Wines and Truffles
A tour amid the Langhe and Roero hills and of the Alba historic centre – the old Roman Alba Pompeia, the medieval “Hundred Tower Town” which welcomes the 78th International Fair of Alba White Truffle in October. Visit of the Barolo and Fontanafredda estate in Serralunga d'Alba, whose historic cellars are the renowned place of production of Barolo and Barbaresco, the most sought-after wines of lower Piedmont. The “Bela Rosin” - morganatic wife of Victor Emanuel II, the first king of Italy who made its unity – used to live here. Accurate tasting of wines and local products, as well as the original, captivating and involving truffle hunt with the truffle hunter and his inseparable dog.

Castles and Wines - Sunday 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th October
An occasion to plunge into the uniqueness of the landscape and the colours of the Langhe and Roero led by history, castles and the people who inhabited them. You will visit the Savoy Residence of Govone, UNESCO heritage, and the castle of Grinzane Cavour, where the statesman Camillo Benso of Cavour dreamt of the unity of Italy and built the history of the “king of wines, the wine of kings”, i.e. Barolo wine which you will taste in the Fontanafredda historic winery in Serralunga d'Alba. The estate was the scene of true loves and became residence of the “Bela Rosin”, king Victor Emanuel II’s morganatic wife. The visit will take you through the old cellars and the park, and will end up with a rich tasting of wines and typical products. Reservation within 48 hours before departure.

Guided tour of the attractive historic centre of the city: alleys and old courtyards, arcades and big squares. Strolling along its streets is like visiting an open air museum: the monumental Piazza Castello framed by the Royal Palace, the dome of the Holy Shroud Chapel designed by the renowned Guarino Guarini, Palazzo Madama and the church of San Lorenzo.

Savoy Residences
Tour of the “Crown of Delights”, the historic Savoy residences which have been acknowledged Unesco heritage since 1997. A complex of buildings designed and decorated by the major architects and artists over two centuries in order to prove the power and prestige of the House of Savoy. The great masters of architecture were called to build these delights: Amedeo and Carlo di Castellamonte, Filippo Juvarra, Guarino Guarini and Pelagio Palagi. During the tour, you will admire the Valentino castle, the Villa della Regina, the Stupinigi Hunting Lodge, the castle of Rivoli, the interiors of the castle of Racconigi and the Venaria Reale. The way back will be through the districts of the contemporary Turin in order to experience the transformation of a big city drawn by the “pencil” of great architects.

Lake Maggiore
Visit the Lake Maggiore and tour the Borromee Islands by boat. You will admire the Isola Madre, and stop on the Isola Bella to visit the beautiful gardens and the imposing Borromee Palace. Finally, Isola dei Pescatori (Fishermen’s Island) with the ancient simplicity and the naïvety of its houses and narrow streets. Time free for lunch. Return to Stresa, time at leisure to enjoy the atmosphere of the small village and the lakeside bordered by beautiful gardens and dreamlike palaces.
